Some of the Best Things in Life are Free
I was catching up on my favorite blogs when I decided to make a quiet moment period and reflect on what I read in Marni Pehrson’s post on
What she had to say really struck a cord with me.
Since being released from the corporate world earlier this year, I have been guilty of spending every waking moment ‘working’ and not enjoying the freedom I have now.
I had been used to putting in at least 12 hours a day from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. only to come home and crash for a nap. The purpose of this was to re-energize me to do my housework, then retreat to the office until 10-11 pm doing internet stuff, stopping occasionally to see what my son had created on his game or PC and to see what my hubby was watching on TV.
While I don’t get up that early anymore, I caught myself doing this ‘work’ routine, perhaps to replace my salary?
In her article she says she goes to her garden in the morning, then sits and writes in her journal.
I had and “Ah -HA!” moment.
Thanks Marnie, You may have saved my mental state from eroding.
